Crushed On My Stepbrother
Chapter 1
Alison was rearranging her furniture, moving her bed closer to the far wall so that she could fit her small dresser and nightstand into the room. The room was small but she didn’t care.
As she was setting up her dresser mirror, she heard a light tap against the doorframe. Looking through the mirror, she saw Jake was standing there with a smile on his face.
“You know you could’ve asked me for help and I would have been more than willing,” he stated, walking into the room.
Alison blushed. She thought that she would have the day just to get things organized before he popped up, but she had to remember that he did live there.
“Thanks, but I don’t really like anyone touching my things.” She smiled at him, hoping she hadn’t offended him.
“That’s okay. At least I offered.” He nodded, staring at her.
He looked at her short black hair and dark brown eyes. From behind, he thought she looked good. He could see her front side in the mirror and noticed she had filled out since the last time he’d seen her.
“I thought you’d come looking for me, at least for a hug. I haven’t seen you in years,” he told her, holding his arms out.
Alison laughed and went to him, stepping into his embrace. She hugged him tightly, forgetting how much fun they used to have with each other when they were younger.
“I see that you finally found her.” Jake’s father, Alison’s stepfather, laughed from the doorway.
He was a little taller than Jake, with the same bleach blond hair and blue eyes that would make any woman weak in the knees. It was where Jake got his good looks.
“I did find her. I was waiting for her to find me. I thought she would at least say hi, but she decided to set up her room instead.” Jake laughed, letting her go and stepping away from her, his blue eyes beaming with happiness.
“Let her get settled first. I’m sure that it’s been a long trip for her.” He smiled at the pair before walking down the hall to his own room.
“You should put on a bathing suit and come outside. It’s gorgeous out there, and you could work on your tan.” Jake noticed that she was pale and wondered if she stayed in all the time. When they were younger they couldn’t keep her from going outside.
“I don’t know if I have a bathing suit that I fit into now.” She laughed, looking down at her body. She was a little chunky, but she had good features. She looked down at her black shirt and jean shorts. She had kicked off her white shoes the second she got into the house.
“You look great, trust me. Let’s go to the pool. You’ll be glad you did.” Jake winked at her before he headed out of the room and down the stairs to go back outside.
She felt her heart flutter. She hadn’t expected Jake to be grown up.
